My apologies if they are out of the mahi mahi wrap...i think we ate it all! My husband and I both liked this wrap so much the first day we ate it that we decided to eat it everyday for lunch. By day 5 I decided to be adventurous (brace yourself) and order a rainbow roll instead for lunch, but I have to admit I was a bit jealous of the mahi mahi wrap sitting on my husband's plate. We did have plans to eat dinner here one night, but after looking at the menu (italian food) it was almost as pricey as alan wong's restaurant, which we loved so we decided to go back there instead. However, I've been told that on Saturday nights the Beach Tree has quite the buffet, including all you can eat lobster! I'm bummed we weren't there for a Saturday night to experience that, but was very pleased with the mahi mahi wraps I had and the many lava flow drinks. And while laying at the pool right next to the Beach Tree ask them to bring you a mango mint smoothie- there's nothing tastier nor more refreshing than that smoothie!

I was very excited for a nice dinner by the beach. I usually like dive's, but figured on the honeymoon, let's enjoy something special. This place was not special, unless special means overpriced and unpleasant. The view is divine, but none of the guest care, they are busy drinking and networking. It was obvious that I was not staying at the four seasons and was not treated that great by the staff. The drinks were incredibly overpriced, which I understand for it being more expensive... but $8 for a beer? The burger I had was nothing special either. Father's Office in LA or In-n-Out make significantly better tasting burgers. For my wife, she had a pretty good shrimp salad and pineapple juice and vodka ($22). Loved my trip to Hawaii and had great food. This was the worst place on our trip. While I know this is not my type of place and I should not be surprised. I thought maybe more expensive would mean better. I was totally wrong. The best part was the view. But no view can make up for an unpleasant atmosphere, significantly overpriced menu, and a fabricated Hawaii. This seems like a great place for many people and if you do go, please enjoy being with your children, relax, and have a great time. But I would never recommend this place to anyone I liked.

Ordered the short rib entree it was nothing exciting have definitely had better for half the price. Beautiful ambience service was excellent!

Food is good not great. Service is a tad better than a Buffalo Wild Wings. Service and attentiveness have tanked over last year or so.

A gorgeous resort, sparking sunny and breezy weather, a great pal I haven't seen in months.... And fish tacos! Life doesn't get any better than this. We came to enjoy the gorgeous setting, a cool glass of white wine and lots of conversation over lunch. So instead of catching up, we marveled over the delightful, beautifully prepared and presented fish tacos. The fish was lightly grilled, served with daintily cut cabbage and a light sweet mango salsa. A perfect beachside lunch!

Amazing beachside bar and patio. Expensive but the cocktails are unique and refreshing. We had hotdogs- they were served with an insane selection of tasty toppings! Fries were fries. Beach Tree is the place-to-be with friends to enjoy for a a few tasty snacks, cocktails and the view... just be prepared to pay more for the Four Seasons packaging;-)

Perfection! This is the idyllic beachfront, casual yet elegant restaurant spot with healthful food and incredible views. Highly recommend the Mango Gazpacho. It was perfectly balanced...you could tell they used a high quality olive oil and perfectly ripened tomatoes. It was exceptional. We also had the ahi burger (on a brioche bun)...my guy loved the fact that the chef stacked the fresh ginger next to the ground ahi for effect. I had the southwestern inspired grilled and chilled shrimp salad with cilantro vinaigrette. It was light, tasty and perfect for maintaining a bikini bod. Service here is GENUINELY cheerful and bright. We had the lovely opportunity to chat with a manager, Shelley, about our dining experience and what sets Four Seasons apart from other brands. Incidentally, Ms. Shelley is new to the islands...and as we kama'aina like to say, "E como mai," (welcome) and "a hui hou!" (until we meet again)...your bright light and genuine interest in your guests is what hospitality is all about...and these qualities are reflected in the entire team there at the Beach Tree. This is what distinguishes Four Seasons from so many other places...the totality of the experience. The views/ambiance, service, food...TRIFECTA. We'll be back again!

Amazing food with an even better view. The Four Seasons is known for the food quality and service, and at the Beach Tree Bar and Grill the continue that with a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Everything I tasted in the menu was fantastic. If you try one dish from the menu, go with the fish tacos. I had them twice, there perfectly cooked with the right amount of seasoning. After your main course, have either the sorbet or ice cream. The passion fruit and raspberry sorbet pair well together. And if you want ice cream, get one scoop of the macadamia nut ice cream with one scoop of the coffee ice cream and put that in a waffle cone. It's perfection. Lastly, to wash it all down, the classic Mai Thai is as good as what you'll find anywhere. But look for the drink Tom's Pink Shirt and if Tom is there ask him how he got the drink named after him.

First of all, Four Seasons is just gorgeous!! (I wish I could stay at the actual resort) The outdoor restaurant is located inside the Four Seasons Resort and it is so beautiful. I felt like I was in heaven going to the resort. The restaurant is set in the best place possible to see the sunset, right next to the beach. Made my last night of our trip at the Big Island! They got a jazz (?) band that plays while you eat also, which is cool. I got a sweet and spicy seafood pasta with lobster, shrimp, and uni that comes out in a thin crusted flatbread bowl and the boyfriend got the wild mushroom risotto. Both good, but pasta was better than the risotto. Cocktails were good also. The food and drinks are more on the pricier end and eating here would be more for the setting/experience than the food. Nonetheless, beautiful, classy, and a very nice romantic area. This place and restaurant is just to die for.

Considering the par for the course, this 5 star restaurant delivered an adequate breakfast experience. The positives: 1- Location: hard to beat. You're so close to the beach you're practically on the sand. 2- Service: as expected from a fancy establishment. service was very attentive and top notch 3- Fresh fruits: tasty selection of fresh fruits is on offer here during the breakfast brunch Less impressed about: 1- Lack of hot food options. They have all the usual items like potatoes, sausages, bacon, omelette station and one type of egg Benedict. However, for the price they are charging I had expected more gourmet hot items. 2- Goes hand-in-hand with the above, I think the price they are charging is ok based on the setting/service, but would like to see a bit of improvement in the selection. Overall, dine here if you are in the neighborhood, but only if you are prepared to pay dearly :)

i got their shrimp tacos for lunch along with salad and a drink. I highly recommend their taco. i honestly think its the best that you can get that fits the beach view and the weather. so good. also, pina colada and lava flow here is super good. must get.

Lovely atmosphere located by the ocean accompanied by live music and hula dancer. Service was absolutely top notch. Our server knows every single dish on the the menu and was able to explain each dish to us like that was his creation. Very impressive! Started off with a beet salad which was super fresh, season perfectly and left me wanted more. Their house bread with pesto garlic olive was to die for! Just don't eat too much so you won't get too full for your main dish! Gnocchi with ox tail was great, the gnocchi was a tad too soft for me, I like my gnocchi a little al dente but overall very tasty. I wish i had room for dessert but I was just too full! They do give you a tiny basket of malasada with cinnamon sugar on the house which is a very nice touch. Restaurant is at the Four Season Hualalai, so expect to pay more for the food but the atmosphere, service and quality of food are worth the extra $!

Having lunch at Beach Tree was such a lovely part of our trip to Kona! I loved the food and atmosphere and our server was great at the beginning of our meal but then forgot about us halfway through. The place got really busy and having been a server in the weeds before I completely understood, but my water was empty most of our meal, which was just unfortunate. I got the fish tacos which were amazing! I could have had some more of the chipotle sauce that was drizzled over the fresh caught mahi mahi. My friend got the nachos which were delicious! I didn't have drinks or dessert but the guests around us were enjoying delicious looking delicacies. The atmosphere at Beach Tree is fantastic. You're right on the ocean in an open air cabana type building. You can hear the waves while you enjoy your meal and can go to the restaurant in your swimsuit and coverup. It's also a very family friendly place, which is ideal for most of the resort guests at the Four Seasons. I would love to come back here for dinner sometime and watch the sunset! Prime view for sure.

An Italian and Mediterranean Cuisine with California and tropical influences. Started off with a Ginger Blossom Martini Which was unique and refreshing. Then my husband and I split the Kekela Farm Beets, Haricot Vert, Radicchio, Mac Nuts, Gorgonzola. Freshest flavours, absolutely delicious! The seasonal offerings are awesome! I ordered the pan seared Kampachi. Kabocha Squash Purée. Sautéed Hamakua Mushrooms. Truffled Red Wine Demi Sauce! The hottest ingredients. Ahhhhmazingly good! Dinning at it's finest! The Beach Tree at the Four Seasons Resort is my all time (FAV!) I can't say enough about the spectacular food. Definitely a place for foodies! Casual-elegant atmosphere situated right on the ocean. Ideal location to enjoy awe-inspiring sunsets. Hear the ocean waves during your meal. Live Hawaiian music, enjoy the Aloha Spirt. Holly was our server tonight and she was a super star.! Xoxo I love Four Seasons Hualalai!

Best dinner I had while on the Big Island for a week. We also dined at the Mauna Kea, the Mauna Lani, and the Fairmont Orchid to give you a sense of what I'm comparing it to. We ordered the WOW tomato bruschetta and the chicken pesto meatballs to start and both were fantastic. The meatballs were probably the best meatballs I've ever had and the tomatoes used in the bruschetta were sweet, garlicy, and perfect. The foccacia served to the table was also outrageously good and fresh out of the oven. We also shared a goat cheese, pepperoni pizza and the chicken parmesan. Both were great, but the chicken parmesan was definitely our favorite of the two. If you're looking for a nice, but not outrageously fancy family dinner near Kona, Beach Tree is the perfect option. Don't leave without trying those meatballs though!

Wow! Super!! The location of this restaurant is on the grounds of the Four Seasons and is just the most beautiful setting. The Beach Tree is down near the pool and beach. It's a relaxed casual beach setting with families all around. We were able to get in with a phone call a few days in advance and took the 5pm reservation both times. Dinner took a couple of hours as we were in no hurry to leave. The service was top notch. The live local music was beautiful. The sunset was gorgeous! Now the FOOD! They have a great selection with varying prices. Since it was just my hubby and myself, we had the split lobster(!!)and it was to die for!!! The first dinner was to celebrate my belated 50th birthday trip to the islands, so we went all out! Our server presented me with a complimentary dessert on the house (my choice) which was very thoughtful and beautiful! Mango creme brulee! Dinner was so good we returned the last night of our trip and this dinner was just as fabulous as the first time! We had that split lobster again ($47)!!! This place is a must!

One of the Four Seasons restaurants that we've been frequenting since we're staying at the hotel for a week. We've eaten here three times. My general feeling for all of the Four Season restaurants is that the reviews are much inflated and over-hyped. Here's what we've ordered over our last two visits: B.I. GRASS-FED BURGER - Served pretty simply on a brioche bun. I enjoyed it. Would order again. BEEF NACHOS - I liked this. The problem was, this dish was served on the cold side, so the cheese hardened and the nachos were all stuck to each other. You couldn't pull one nacho out of the pile because they were all glued together has this never happened to you at home?). It's too bad because they were tasty, but you had to rip apart the pyramid of nachos to eat it. Would order again, but I would tell the server about our predicament with the nachos the first time to avoid having it happen again. Needs to be served immediately! AHI TUNA - My daughter's dish. She liked it. I tasted it and I liked it too. She said she would order again. KALE SALAD - Kale Salad was the only dish we re-ordered the second time. My wife and daughter loved this and I thought it was pretty good too though I'm not a huge fan of kale. They DID order again. MAHI TACOS - Not outstanding, but good. Would NOT order again. HANGAR STEAK - My favorite dish at this place. Charred nicely with a chimichurri sauce. Just what I wanted--hit the spot. Would order again. HAWAIIAN TUNA ROLL - You would expect better quality fish from a restaurant that sits so close to the ocean, that it's almost IN the ocean. My daughter is a sushi lover but didn't love this. GNOCCHI - Daughter's order. We all loved it. Soft and pillowy--just as gnocchi should be. The gnocchi sit in a pretty rich ragout made from oxtail. Would order again. SHORT RIBS - My wife's order. The explanation of this dish sounded very high and lofty, something about the meat of three ribs being tied around one bone and then braised 24 hours etc. It was decent, but expected it to be something special. BURRATA APPETIZER - Nicely done, served with toasted slices of baguette. Would order again. NUTELLA CINNAMON PANNACOTTA - We all agreed that this tasted exactly like those instant Swiss Miss puddings that you can buy in any grocery store. No thank you. CHOCOLATE CHERRY CAKE - The waitress gushed about this. We decided, after all, to go with the pannacotta. Oddly enough, the chocolate cake comes out despite the fact we didn't order it. The waitress was a sweetheart and told us since it was going to go to waster anyway, that we should enjoy both desserts. Unfortunately, we all took one bit and left it. Dry, and unexciting. The view is phenomenal, especially if you score prime seating, but the way the restaurant is laid out, most of the seating gives a open view of the ocean. So you can't beat the view. But the food is hit and miss, mostly miss in my estimation. And if you factor in the prices of what you're paying for this food, I'd have to say it's not worth the money. I don't mind paying good money for good food, but I didn't find that match-up here. Our waitress was a sweetheart last night and I wish I remembered her name. I couldn't decide on a wine, and so she brought three brand new bottles to the table (all the ones I was deliberating over) and then, one by one, poured me a sample to try. I'm not a huge wine guy, but I thought that was a very cool thing to do. In the end, I chose the Rose. I love the Four Seasons chain, but I wish they could raise it a notch or two on the restaurants that are on-site. There's not a bunch of restaurants close to the hotel, so you're pretty much tied to these restaurants. Of all the BT restaurants I think the Resident's Beach House is the best (I think technically, it's not Four Season's restaurant). There I had two bests of my life happen: Best Fish n Chips in my life, and Best Dessert of my Life, which was a Peanut Butter Pie. We're going back today to have another!

One of the best meals I had on the Big Island. We stayed at the FS but didn't check this place out until after we'd checked out and were staying elsewhere for the rest of our stay. FYI, you'll never see any tables available for this place on OpenTable - you'll have to call and make a reservation, or just stop by but I'd recommend a reservation. Despite not being guests at the Four Seasons, service wan amazing. Our waiter was really nice and knowledgeable, and even the sous chef and GM stopped by and chatted with us. Not just the "hey, how is everything? OK, bye," drive-by conversations you get at lots of places - actually asking about you, where you're visiting from, etc. etc. really cool touch! I'm not usually a huge fan of Italian food, but everything I've had here has been perfect. This time I got a risotto with uni sauce, lobster, Ono, and hearts of Palm. Amazing! We brought our own wine to have with dinner and they had no problem getting a decanter for us, too. Their special desert was a Meyer lemon ricotta tart concoction that was really, really great, too - we'll definitely be returning! The beach-front location can't be beat. They have live Hawaiian music many nights, too! The night we were there, there was a hula dancer as well. really can't ask for a better atmosphere than that. Thanks for a great meal!

We were here last night for my birthday though we didn't mention that to our server. We had no reservation. Even though our table was not oceanfront, we still had a wonderful view of the sunset. Our waiter was attentive and helped took photos for us (even by the Beach Tree per his suggestion). We had the flatbread special with fig and eggplant as our appetizer, then grass fed beef burger and the swordfish for our entrees, followed by 1/2 order of bon bons and creme brûlée. We also shared a carafe of sangria. The flatbread special was great, the swordfish was very small in portion and really tough and dry, the burger was generous in portion but nothing to rave about. The highlight was the creme brûlée which was by far the best I've ever had anywhere. The bon bons, while popular, were just ok - maybe we were just too stuffed. To finish off, they brought over some complimentary cinnamon donut hole kind of dessert. We were beyond stuff at that point - I had one and it wasn't half bad. While it is fairly expensive (our bill was $130 before tips), all in all, the impeccable service, the heavenly view, and the laidback ambiance (with live music) make this place worth visiting. The entrees especially could use some finessing giving it is the Four Seasons Hotel after all. We were way more impressive with the food when we stayed at Four Seasons Sayan and Jimbaran Bay in Bali.

Expensive, but for the atmosphere of a beautifully lit beach and music as you dine casually worth it for one night, but Costco for the rest of weekend. Friend boasted $21 burger was delish, cocktails overly sweet at $16 a pop. Swordfish delish, but small portioned.

Yikes! Is this really in a Four Seasons Resort?! Had a birthday dinner reservation for 9 people on Sept 23, 2014. We booked in advanced, but were still forced into an 8:00 pm time slot. Arrived at 8:00, table not ready, sent to bar. Seated at 8:30, and told that Menu stops at 9:00 so we need to "HURRY'. Server took cocktail orders for 3 diners at a time, took her 3 trips. Her shaved-head male colleague literally dropped 2 plates on the table, said "Pesto" and walked off. Apparently this goes with the bread and they are supposed to make some explanation about the ingredients. My rib eye steak was like something you would get from a crappy chain steak house. They brought the wrong wine despite the fact that we ordered 4 bottles. Overall, wait staff in this restaurant have no concept of fine dining. This place is like a beachside lunch place where you can get a quick meal in your bathing suit. Don't bother trying to have a decent dinner. Very disappointing.

Everything is 5 stars at The Four Seasons in my opinion and this restaurant is no different. The food and service here is devine. Everyone in our party loved what they ordered. I had that seared ahi Niçoise salad and it was the best Niçoise salad I've ever had. Even the potatoes were melt in your mouth and it was dressed with tangy olives and capers with fresh crispy green beans and super fresh fish, of course. My husbands pizza was melt in your mouth...just so so so good all around. Expensive and worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Had lunch here on 4/21/15 and everything about my wife and I's experience was perfect. The view, perfect. The food, pricey of coarse but excellent. Burger was like buttah, and the fish tacos fresh. The best part of our experience by far was the service. Our server "laurenelle?" Was very informative and friendly. Will be returning in the future

Best beachside dining on the big island! From the wonderful handcrafted cocktails to the excellent Italian food, this place is my favorite place to eat dinner at sunset. The service is impeccable and the live music provides an unbeatable ambiance. Watching the whales right off the beach of this beautiful resort was an added bonus.

Service a quality. Now realizing that this place makes the Marriott look like a slum in India. The compachi was great. The greens great. The lobster pasta so salty that we had to return it. There was so much salt in it it tasted like sylvite. The Mac n cheese -average. The burger was an A+ according to 7 year old. And the Bon bons were awesome.

I had the pleasure of having a birthday lunch yesterday at the Beach Tree Bar & Grill and I loved it. We already knew going in that the prices were high, but frankly, I've spent about the same amount at other Hawaiian restaurants and didn't come away feeling as satisfied or impressed. Many 'fancy' Hawaiian restaurants are years behind the food world and standards of the mainland, but this is NOT the case with the BTB&G. (I would expect nothing less of the 4 Seasons). The setting is lovely and I loved the casual environment. The food is not fancy or fussy, but extremely high quality and perfectly prepared. I'm not sure why some reviewers felt shunned for not being guests at the hotel, we did not feel that in the slightest. If you go in feeling 'less than' you may project that insecurity onto your experience, just my 2 cents. We started with a couple of excellent ($16) cocktails which were the Tom's Pink Shirt the Beach Tree Smash which we both really liked. For food we started with the Wild Boar Nachos. OMG, they were fantastic! Although I am really more of a healthy choice kind of girl, these were a decadent gourmet version so I felt slightly better about my fattening choice. The pork was great and I loved the roasted jalapeños. The dish was large, completely enough to share. We also got a pizza for the table, just because I wanted to see how it was done. We had the Eggplant, Mushroom, Roasted Pepper, Arugula, Goat Cheese Pizza and it was very good, but we barely ate it and took it home to eat later for a yummy dinner. This is Italian thin-crust pizza, the way it's supposed to be. Very good. For our entrees I had one of the specials of the day, the Mahi Fish And Chips and my companion had the Crispy Mushroom Burger. I LOVED the fish and chips and my companion really liked her dish, although I only had one bite of hers and didn't really have much of an impression. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked and I would love to order it again. I almost always order fish when I'm in Hawaii and I wasn't disappointed! I did have one cocktail I didn't really care for called the Coconut Adrift, but it really just needed some water to dilute the thick, cloying coconut juice. We were too full to order desert, but they looked good. Our server Brian was very sweet and attentive and made us feel at home and well taken care of. All of the staff were professional and helpful. I really loved the Beach Tree Bar and Grill and look forward to many more meals there. I would love to try their dinner menu in the near future. Hawaii is expensive, but at the BTB&G it's unlikely you're gonna feel let down like I often do at so many other places here. I spent the same amount at Sushi Shiono in Kona a few days earlier and although the food was good, it was not worth the $125 (before tip) we spent in comparison to the BTB&G. So don't get your knickers in a bunch over the prices, this is just how it is in Hawaii. But at the BTB&G you're gonna get your money's worth. Happy eating!

The views here are spectacular. You're basically at the ocean's edge. It's casual enough, although you have to remember that it's still the Four Seasons. Service is attentive but not too over-bearing or arrogant. The food is your typical upscale Hawaiian cafe/bar type food. We tried the prosciutto pizzetta, tricalori salad, and the roasted beet salad. All pretty decent. I had the catch of the day, which was opah. It was very delicious and well-prepared. We also had the burger. Nothing to write home about there. So, nice casual place to grab a bite on the resort. My only complaint is that is closes down SOOO very early.

Breathtaking spot for sunset drinks and pupus. Casually elegant. Sit in outdoor lounge and watch the waves- great drinks and food. The beet, kale, Mac but, goat cheese salad was sooo good. Lobster risotto was only fine. Get the bon bons for dessert and share them with whoever you're sitting by- we did and it set off a night of great conversation and many more drinks!!

Great location. Try to book at sunset. Food was OK. Wine OK. My wife had the scampi and I had a fisherman's stew. Server was very good. If anything, it was pricey for what it was.

Still can't beat the view and the atmosphere of this place. The reason this place gets two starts is due to the lackluster menu, portion size and overall flavor of the food. I have been here two previous times and had great meals with excellent flavoring and portion size, however tonight was a total disappointment, which is sad since I picked this place to celebrate my birthday, the menu was very limited and nothing jumped out to us, honestly the best part of the mall was the cinnamon sugar beignet. Due to this lack later meal we are going to cancel our two up coming dinner reservations, since there are much better places to eat around the area.

If you arrive late you may get the table without any shades so it could get really hot. The food is fit for most foodies but you'll pay for that privilege on the big island where competition is scarce. Lunch for two with a few drinks comes to about $200.

Amazing food, but I guess that's to be expected. And amazing views, too. The staff is great, and didn't mind taking a sunset photo of my husband and I in the middle of our meal. A complimentary dessert for our anniversary topped the evening off nicely. And last, but certainly not least: They make the BEST lava flows.

Very tasty fish special and chicken, this is right in four seasons. Very expensive. Beautiful beach within feet's.

Solid service, refreshing drinks, and good food. Fish options are generally tasty, though I found the grilled fish portion size a little small. For lunch there is a variety of American fare available including salads, sandwiches, and pizzas. My favorite lunch plates included the organic field greens salad topped with fresh ahi and the fish tacos. At night the menu has an Italian influence, offering a number of pasta choices as well as traditional entrees like veal parmesan. Dessert is a no brainer, you've gotta go with the chocolate rip curl!

Very expensive , even for The Big Island. The only pluses were the setting, the sunset and the staff. All of those were great, especially the staff and the sunset. But they did not make up for overpricing and food of dubious quality. A glass of Prosecco was $12 - - that's more than we pay for a bottle. Sangria also $12 - - outrageous. We paid $12 for three small meatballs!! Before we went I checked their dinner menu on line and had decided I was going to have the Eggplant Parmesan. When we got there it wasn't on the menu. Our waitress said it hadn't been on the menu for months??? Then why is it on the menu on line? The chef must be trying to reinvent Italian dishes, as none of them were very Italian (I lived in Italy for three years). He puts chunks of ragu on gnocchi - - it ruined otherwise pretty darn good gnocchi. The sauce on the fat, chunky spaghetti noodles was so spicy that one of us could not eat it. The tiramisu was unlike any tiramisu we've ever had anywhere and was so far from traditional tiramisu that it's impossible to describe. As the evening wore on (we had a 6:00pm reservation) it got noisier and noisier, to the point where you could no longer hear the waves. The Beach Tree was highly recommended by our hotel concierge, we were looking forward to it, but it was a huge disappointment. An Italian meal at Olive Garden would have tasted better and cost 1/3 the outrageous prices The Beach Tree charges. We won't be going back and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Wow. Called to make a reservation for tonight. The hostess answered by saying "no, we're all booked for tonight." then she hung up. She HUNG UP on us. Very classy. She did not even attempt to accommodate us, how about asking us if we'd like to book a reservation for another night or something. Geeze, maybe they're so busy and doing so well that they don't need our business. Either way, that is NOT the way to show Aloha. Very disappointed.

Update: The general manager must have read my review somewhere and sent me an apology and gift basket for the terrible service and mishap on the hostess' part. Kudos to him for doing so. We may give it another try next time we are in Kona.

The view from any table is really great. It's located right on the ocean and the sound of the waves crashing is wonderful. I had the organic chicken breast with avocado and tomato salad. It was well seasoned and tasty. I also had a wonderful berry smoothie. I think it's a nice place to have lunch but kinda overrated. The staff is nice and polite and the service is Four Seasons' style so you really can't complain to much.

Wow indeed! Very good Italian dishes & house made pasta, good selection of wine, excellent service. Reasonable prices. Local musicians playing Hawaiian-styled popular and local music with hula dancer -- makes for a very pleasant and entertaining evening. Beautiful property. Free parking. What more could you ask for? Best fine dining choice on the west side of the Big Island (So much better than the overpriced and much less impressive fine dining choices near the Waikoloa Village resorts.)

I expected this restaurant to be the best dining experience because its at the nicest resort. However, out of all my dining experiences on the big island, this was the worst. Ambiance - The restaurant is beautiful. It overlooks a gorgeous beach, a cool looking tree, and has California decor. The servers are gorgeous young white girls (unflattering uniforms though - so not nice of whoever picked them out). It was all very Southern California. And as someone from there, I wish it had been more Hawaiian. Food - They ran out of the flatbread appetizer and the waitress offered to substitute in an appetizer-sized pizza. It was alright but we were charged for the normal pizza size! The Chicken chop chop salad was tasteless and didn't have much dressing, if any. Service - Our waitress was completely rude and ignored us for the entire meal. She even rolled her eyes when we asked a question about a dish. Suddenly when the check came, she transformed into the sweetest, friendliest human on the planet. She got a good tip but looking back, she probably didn't deserve it.

We spent a delightful evening here. Didn't have reservations but were able to get seated in the lounge with great views of the ocean & stars. Unfortunately, three of us had the fresh catch of the day - Opa - and they were all over cooked. Too much dressing on the salad and everything was just a little too salty. It didn't ruin our evening though, the ambience was perfect and the service was impeccable.

We stayed at the Four Seasons 5 nights and ate at Beach Tree (plus a lunch) 4 of those nights. We never ate the same thing twice and were in heaven with each meal. The location is to die for. This must be the most perfect spot on the planet to watch the sun set. Service was always great, drinks always on point. Make sure to reserve your spot early, as it tends to fill up during sunset. Also, definitely dine when they are having any special events. We were there for a Tuscan evening - the chefs were grilling just caught fish on the beach.....YUM.

OMG, read the reviews and decided to go there. The view was really nice, it was gorgeous, and I was so excited, expecting to be one of my best experiences, since I love seeking nice restaurants. However, the servers were not nice and patient at all. They all gave that tired looking, and heard one girl saying that F word. The food was really really disappointing, not good at all. Especially compared to the volcano restaurant I recently went to. The food.......the only word I can describe is: disappointed. Not recommend....not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also, some yelpers confused this restaurant to a nearby restaurant; ULU.... just let u guys know. I am not picky person, most restaurant I've been in big island i gave 4/5 stars cause they were nice and tasty. But this one, I hate this one, my worst experience in big island. Would rather spend all my money eating fast food.

A great restaurant, great views, fantastic service, and live music. We were going to go to the big special Four Seasons dinners at the Pahu i'a, but then we saw how much food it was and so then decided to instead have a lighter dinner at the Beach Tree. This was definitely the right choice. We shared a paella dinner which was very good and then a dessert. I hope to go back just for the dessert - we had something with 'Bon Bon' in the name. It was vanilla ice cream with an outer chocolate shell. It was great, but what made it superb was that it was served in a steel bucket, sitting on top of dry ice (and so when served looked like a volcano or something). Because it was kept cold by the dry ice, we were able to slowly eat this very big dessert (a leisurely 30 to 45 minutes) and never had to worry about the ice cream melting. Once of the best desserts I've ever had.

Beautiful setting and great menu. I got the braised short rib and it was very good, though could have used more flavor. Get the bon-bons for dessert.

If you are on a gluten free or dairy free diet then avoid this restaurant. They don't get it. Mixed dairy into our food on more than one occasion and we got sick. Enough said. ** Edit ** The Beach Tree Bar and Grill is great. It is the other restaurants on the property that have issues. The 'ULU Ocean Grill fed us dairy on multiple occasions in pancakes even though we requested dairy free. They even delivered the plates four separate times with butter on both plates - duh! The Hualalai Grille put my Baby Back ribs on top of regular bread instead of gluten free bread and like an idiot I ate the bread. I was so sick the next morning. If you have allergy sensitivities make sure you print up business cards with your allergies and present the card to your server. Hopefully, the chefs will read your card and get your order prepared safely. The other issue may have been that the "kitchen runners" were updating the plates with bread and other garnishments and they do not know of the sensitivities like the server and chef knew. Changed from 1 star to 3 stars.

Gorgeous restaurant with a relaxed and casual-elegant atmosphere situated right on the ocean. I lucked out when I stayed here in that every meal that I had was delicious. The only thing that fell short for me was the desserts. My observation was that in presentation sure they had pizazz and looked beautiful, but I think that the flavors could have been more inspired. I managed to try all of them and my favorite was the Mango & Lilikoi Crème Brulee. This restaurant makes a great date location at sunset. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Kailua-Kona. I loved the Fettuccine Alfredo Chicken with Hamakua Mushrooms. I paired it with a Prosecco and it was delightful. The bruschetta is a great appetizer option, it is very fresh and bursting with flavor. For lunch, their pizzas are pretty good. The breakfast buffet has everything from homemade yogurt and granola to freshly made omelets and french toast. If you want to get seated around dinner time/sunset make sure you make a reservation in advance or else you'll have to sit in the bar lounge area. With that being said, the bar area is also beautiful. Steve, the bartender, is a gem and will offer great suggestions.

Sip a Beach Tree Smash while enjoying the sunset and listening to live Hawaiian music and you'll never want to leave. Add chicken milanese sliders, the fresh catch of the day and servers with 'aloha' and you've arrived in paradise. Yes, it's the Four Seasons so expect to pay resort prices for the experience, but who deserves it more than you do? No one!

If you are on Kona and looking for a much less windy area on the west side of the island to enjoy a drink or lunch, head to Hualalai! We're staying up a bit further north in what surely must the wind tunnel of Hali'i Kai at Waikaloa ... . The Beach Tree is a fabulous bar right on the beach at historic Hualalai. It's at the Four Seasons, so yes, you'll experience great service and high prices. They didn't charge separately for the valet (we still tipped, of course), which was either a mistake or a nice example of not nickel and diming. I started with a pina-pirinha, an on the rocks drink made with lime juice, agave nectar, pineapple infused SKYY Vodka and Brazilian white rum. Yummy and crisp. I then moved on to the Late for the Party -- another on the rocks drink with Patron Anejo (Tequila), fresh raspberries (that's what the menu said; it was actually raspberry juice), fresh jalapenos (a few slices with seeds), lime juice and agave nectar. Very fresh and tasty -- the jalapenos were kick-ass hot (much hotter than the serranos I used for tacos the day before). My husband had the Coconut Afloat -- an on the rocks rum drink with coconut cream, fresh strawberries and bananas. I had the bbq pork, pineapple and ricotta pizza (with roasted jalapenos added at my request). Outstanding pizza from a wood-fired oven. I've heard the mascarpone, arugula and prosciutto pizza here is also fantastic. My husband had grilled ahi burger -- and while he enjoyed it, he found the ahi burger at Gott's in St. Helena, CA to be much better. The bun on this burger was too crumbly, the fish wasn't as fresh (couldn't believe it -- but I tasted it and agree), and the accompanying sauce was too sweet and didn't have enough contrast. I have a feeling we'll be back at least once on this trip!

We ate there after a long trip to a zipline adventure. After all that I've since experienced, I did like the ambience and the atmosphere. It felt like it should be a fine dining spot. I did not like how there are three different waitresses asking what my group would want to drink. That's not the kind of service I want. Besides that, our waitress who served us tonight did a decent job. My margherita pizza was okay, but everybody else's was good too.

Excellent restaurant, for lunch or dinner. We had a number of great items at our two meals, including a battered fish dish, a great pizza with prosciutto, and a wonderful breaded chicken milanese. Also a delicious arugula salad. The setting is off the charts, beach side, and immersed in views of turtles frolicking on the beach. Drinks are great, and really I have nothing negative to say except that the prices are $$$$. When you're staying at this gorgeous Four Seasons resort and immersed in paradise, the prices are forgettable and forgivable, however, and the quality and taste of the food is so high, this place is a must-go.

Beautiful setting, but that's where the good stuff ends. Food - nowhere near as good as similarly positioned/priced restaurants along the Kohala Coast. Not sure if it was the Caesar salad or the overly doughy calzone my son had but one of those made him so sick he spent most of the following day in our room instead of at the pool and the beach. My wild boar ragout over pasta tasted like slightly overcooked pork in tomato sauce. No herbs, no flavor. Ragouts should BURST with flavor. Our other dishes were OK, but when you are shelling out over $50 per person for a nice dinner, OK isn't good enough. Service - simply awful. Water seemed in a hurry the whole night yet everything was late. When telling us about specials he mentioned that there was one but they were out of it. If you're out of it, DON'T MENTION IT. He was trying to rush us to order despite our being in the last seating, and when we told him we needed a couple more minutes he disappeared from the floor for over ten. We didn't get bread for over 30 minutes and had to ask the floor manager for it when she came by to ask how we were doing. Tried to clear my appetizer plate while I was clearly still eating (asked me if I was done as I was taking a bite!). Dinner plates sat uncleared for ten minutes. Water glasses sat empty for ten minutes on more than two occasions. You should NEVER have to ask for water at a restaurant like this. You'll get better food and better service at a much lower price from any of the restaurants along the pier in Kailua-Kona. I upped this to two stars because the Four Seasons followed up with me regarding our experience. But even with that, I cannot in good conscience recommend that you go here. Too many reviews like mine against the good ones. Clearly they have some real consistency issues and in this price range there are several alternatives.

It is expensive. There's no getting around that. $18 drinks are pretty oppressive...but they are delicious. If you get a couple drinks, an app and one dish each, that'll be $100 for two. But you can spend $100 for two a lot of places and not have just terriffic food in the nicest possible setting. The gnocchi was just ridiculous.

i am surprised by the sub par food. it's a shame because the location and resort itself are so impressive. i ordered a seafood special and the food came out at room temperature. the server noticed my barely eaten plate and asked what was wrong. She took the item off the bill and replaced my meal with two complimentary tacos which were actually really good. I'd give them 5 stars for service and ambience, but 2 stars for quality of food. if you dine here, stick with the a la carte tacos and other less expensive items. you'll walk away feeling better about your experience if you haven't just spent $50 on a luke warm, not so great meal.

After playing golf on the Hualalai course, we came here for lunch. What a delightful setting. Surf was up and it was great to sit and watch the waves and listen to them as they crashed to shore. The whales even gave us a show! I had the shrimp tempura roll which was excellent. Nice and crunchy on the outside and tender shrimp inside with a touch of red onion and jalapeños on top. Hubby had the pepperoni and goat cheese pizza which was also very tasty. Our server accommodated me when I asked for a small Longboard (beer) and brought me a half beer. A pricey lunch but it is, after all, the Four Seasons and one of the premiere Four Seasons as well. Plus food is expensive on the Big Island. We look forward to going back sometime soon. Dinner menu looked appealing, and price wise, much more reasonable than some of the higher end restaurants on the Kohala coast.

"Fabulous, Incredible, Wonderful, Amazing" The ambiance, food and service of Beach Tree is fantastic. It is an open air restaurant at the edge of the ocean. Musical duos perform in the evening, sometimes accompanied by a hula dancer. The performers are on a stage facing the restaurant with an open area of soft grass between them and the diners. The gentle music naturally beckons the little ones, and they are drawn to the grassy area. The children dance and sway to the music, sometimes at the feet of the musicians.

We had lunch at this restaurant after a round of golf. Wow. Wow. Wow. My family was on the Island for Christmas. We tried to get a dinner reservation for Christmas dinner here, but struck out. So sad. Should have done it sooner. The service was wonderful. The food was glorious. The view was wonderful. Our only fly in the ointment was a little girl stomping up and down continuously behind us. They did leave half way through our meal, so that was good. Do not let this deter anyone. This is a wonderful restaurant.

Outstanding ambiance and great food. We came here for my birthday dinner an d it was excellent (expensive yes, but excellent!). We both started with a caprese salad which was just a couple bites but it was very tasty with red and yellow tomatoes. Then we had the Mahi Mahi for our entrees which was cooked perfectly and served with a salad. The portions were kind of small here so we went ahead and each ordered a desert (creme brule and the banana split) which ended up being quite large but delicious!

Fantastic service, unreal views of the sunsets and just a very relaxed time on the beach. The food is very good but it is the complete experience that makes this place a 5 star experience. Also, if you like wine make sure u ask them to see their entire wine list by the glass. Great value for some very good wines. For lunch the ahi burger is amazing. For dinner the ahi starter was tremendous and the short ribs for dinner are shockingly great.

I'll put it this way, I only wish my husband and I were staying at this hotel. not only is the hotel beautiful and the service exceptional but the food at Beach Tree is wonderful. I disagree with chuck b. it is actually not as overpriced as the rest of Hawaii, and considering the quality of food and service you're getting I don't think its that different at all. I did not receive differential treatment because we weren't staying there.

This is the perfect way to relax! My lunch was refreshing and perfect. I had a nice cobb salad and chi chis. They were awesome. Best salad I have ever had. The view and decor are to die for. Absolute paradise. You would think this place would be stuffier because of it's location but it was the opposite it was beach chic, comfortable and so relaxing. Our waitress was very nice and welcoming as well.

This place (as you would expect, with the Four Seasons) is outstanding. We went twice over the course of our vacation. Both times, food, service, knowledge of wait staff was tip top. All food is well prepared, with the desserts and their presentation being especially remarkable. Try the bon bons. The ahi burger was delicious. The wine list is carefully selected, and love having the "beachy" carafes on the table to keep that glass of proseco perfectly chilled. Manager Kurt is warm, personable, and extremely professional. We had a minor snafu that he smoothed over gracefully and immediately. Add a beautiful Hawaiian sunset, a hula dancer and a musical serenade and you will be in Hualalai Heaven

We dined at Beach Tree for a late lunch on Tuesday afternoon as our first dining experience on the island. Lovely wait staff and surroundings. Food was good - seasoned very well - my fish tacos and guac app were perfect - husband's heavy cream-sauce pizza was great, but really hot and heavy for a beach setting. Drinks were SUPER expensive ($16 bucks each) and inconsistent - my first pina colada had bananas in it (yuck) and my second one w/o bananas was super heavy on coconut milk when I specifically requested heavier on pineapple. Husband's lime/cucumber/gin cocktail was amazing first time, super heavy on lime second time. Overall, nice afternoon in a beautiful place, but won't be a repeat stop on our vacation.

A delightful place for a relaxing beachfront lunch. Pricey, yes, but what do you expect for a bar & grill at the Four Seasons? The margaritas are HUGE and yummy, especially since they line the glasses here with li hing powder. I think my friend and I got the lilikoi-flavored ones -- whatever it was, it was delicious. DON'T waste your money on the Kona kampachi -- at least, not raw. It's farm-raised and chewy (maybe the two factors are related, maybe not). You're better off with just ahi sashimi; it's too bad they only serve the appetizer as a duo. DO try the all-natural burger. It's delicious, and they bring you those fun little individual-serving bottles of condiments that you get at high-end resorts. This is how people THINK we lunch when we live/work in Hawai'i. Lemme tell you something: I WISH!

Amazing sunset views from every table. Often a live band playing relaxing Hawaiian music. Surprisingly good Italian food for Hawaii. What else can you ask for? Strongly recommend the gnocchi with ox tail. The gnocchi is made in house and very light.

Just got back from this shithole resort...yeah right. If this place isn't Heaven, I don't know how it could get much better. While enjoying the fabulous Four Seasons we were frequent guests of the Beach Tree to put it mildly. It all began while waiting for our room and we decided to grab a bite and some cocktails. This place is all open air, mostly outdoor seating without any sort of cover. The views are INCREDIBLE- you dine while gazing at the beautiful beaches and waves crashing. The food is Italian for dinner which I found odd because the restaurant is so beachy. Why do I live in Chicago?? The food is fantastic, service spotty. But I think that's just Hawaii for you, the lackadasical service would never fly in a big city. They had some yummy cocktails, but the mojito was AWFUL. Worst I've ever had and I've had plenty. Great white wine selection. Get a caraffe...it's 2 and 1/2 glasses for the price of 2. The ONLY "deal" at this resort. They ran out of my $20 wine and I had to "upgrade". It should have been given to me at the same price if they ran out of stock. Now to the food.... 1) Ceviche- freaking great 2) Rainbow Roll- good, not the best I've had. 3) Ahi- It's a special and it's great. They serve it a little warmer than I'd prefer, but it's awesome. 4) Grilled and Chilled Seafood Salad- Did I have 28 of them. Yep! Well, close. It's scallops, shrimp and oh-no....one other fish on top of lettuce with an awesome dressing and capers. Probably the best salad I have ever had. 5) Mahi Tacos- yummmmmmm 6) Burger- Everyone loved theirs. Fries are great. 7) Chicken Marsala- It was a special that came with polenta. I opted for it over pasta. Thank God. It was wonderful. Ordered it twice. 8) Bucatini with Anchovies- I LOVE anchovies and this was just disgusting. I sent it back, apologizing profusely, and the waiter told me he explained the preparation. Well you didn't tell me it tasted like vomit. So I loved it! Wish I was there right now in this sweet weather we are having.

I'm surprised nobody's penned a review yet of the Saturday night "Surf, sand and stars barbecue" (5:30pm - 8:00pm) that's an all-you-can-eat buffet, so I'll assume the honor of being the first. Well, for starters it's $85 (not including beverages, alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Secondly, it includes a live band playing contemporary Hawaiian music, a hula dancer (sometimes), and supposedly even an occasional astronomer. Finally, there's a hell of a lot of really good food. There's no way I can remember everything that was part of their all-you-can-eat buffet but here's what stood out in my mind: - BBQ'd Lobster Tails - Chilled Shrimp - Sushi - Snow Crab Legs - New York Strip Steak (made to order) - Lilikoi Pork Ribs - Fried Chicken Salad (yes, they make a salad from fried chicken!) - Ratatouille - Potatoes - Fried Rice - Various Salads (of the non-fried chicken variety) - Various Desserts including Soufflés (Chocolate and Cookies & Cream) - Rice Pudding - Chocolate Chip Cookies - Kona Cheesecake - MacNut Bars The location is right near the surf, on the sand, and under the stars, so it's aptly named. If you're up for splurging a bit, I highly recommend it.

The fact that this place is packed nearly every night isn't just because of the amazing view, live music, and service, it's because the food is outstanding as well. During a recent vacation stay at the Four Seasons, my Husband and I ate at Beach Tree several times. We were blown away by the food quality, the drinks, and even the service, even when it was super busy. We sat several times in the bar area, which offered the best views of the sunset and was on a first come first serve basis. The views are spectacular and every night we witnessed an amazing sunset right here from the restaurant. We were also blown away by the food, which was surprisingly good. Especially all the Italian features. I loved the simple pastas with added flare. The bruschetta was delicious and filling. The portion sizes are bigger than expected and in line with the price (in my opinion). Drinks were good as well and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. Finally, we had the chocolate dessert on our last night... I wish we'd had this sooner... it was the perfect end to a great meal. Beach Tree cannot be beat... just a great atmosphere (with live music and dancing), good food, and great service. Check it out... you'll love it! Wish I was there now....

great spot for late night bites and tiki drinks. our server told us not to worry about the bar menu and brought us out a full dinner menu. we ended up with a prosciutto (and maybe arugula?) pizza, another couple apps and a couple rounds of drinks. enjoyed the waves crashing onto the shore, the live background music, and the people watching. recommended if you're with a lot of people, or extended family. it's the crowd pleaser of the restaurants in the development.

My husband and I made a reservation for 8:30pm. For an adult dinner, I recommend a later reservations. Lots of families with young kids are finishing up, and things calm down after 8:30pm. We were shown to our table when we arrived early. Wade was our server, and he had lots going on around us. Nevertheless, he remained attentive. We enjoyed the Tuscany prix fix menu. The kale salad was pungently dressed, however it balanced the white bean soup. I ordered the ahi. My husband ordered the NY. Both were cooked to mid rare perfection. Service seemed rushed, but it worked out well for our late dinner. We were tired. Thanks for a great supper.

It's fine. I could see it being great for families and less fun for just couples. There were a lot of kids and a live "local" band playing on the lawn outside. Plus kids going nuts on the grass near the beach. I saw one couple staring out into the madness as if it was a blur and then a big family inside having a gay old time. Depends on you. Menu wise it was fairly generic. We came for was was billed as a "Tuscan" dining night but that was just a dinner menu option to include a few "italian" things including was a billed as charcoal grilled steak or some fish. The optional pre fixe Italian deal didn't seem that cool. The dinner menu had a variety of mostly american things with some pastas that qualified it for Italian American. The food was OK but notably the service was fast. I guess it was a little more family centric and too generic for "Tuscan Nights" as advertised but the food did come out quick and everyone was pretty nice.

I ate here yesterday for my fiancé's birthday dinner. I live on Oahu so I went off yelp reviews and booked it at 6:00 pm to make sure he gets to watch the sunset as we dined. It was AMAZING! We had about 4 people greet and help us, but our server Katie was awesome. She knew her stuff and made sure to even bring a cute little dessert with a candle. Even our plans got switched from Saturday to Sunday so when I called to change our reservation they were very accommodating. Anyways to sum it up it was some of the best service I ever received. My fiancé said it was the best dinner because of quality and view of the meal. Thank yall for making ethe evening perfect for us!

It is the Four Seasons beach front restaurant. We attended a (Corp event) buffet breakfast. All the usual breakfast items, some with a Hawaiian twist. The staff was attentive and (very) helpful. One person at our table inquired about cranberry juice. It was not available the first day, but was available on subsequent days.

This review is for the "Chef's Table" experience that Beach Tree offers... so it will vary greatly from the other reviews already posted. Decided to surprise my wife with Beach Tree's "Chef's Table" on our anniversary during our two week stay in Hawaii... best decision we made (food-wise) of our trip! There is only one seating per night. When we arrived (a bit early), we were seated on the front deck for a drink while they prepared for us. After about 5-10 minutes, we we escorted back by our excellent Sommelier to the kitchen where we were introduced to the chef for a champagne toast and a private tour of the kitchen (with introductions to all the staff). After some good conversation (and confirming our likes, allergies, dislikes, etc. for food), we were seated at a table directly across from the wood fired oven and pizza station to start our feast (and what a feast it was!). I honestly lost count of the courses and wines, but they were all big and all fantastic. From what I can remember (most paired with an excellent wine): - Sweet potato and poke - Mango gazpacho - Island fish crudo - Caprese salad - A type of carbonera-prosciutto pasta - A prosciutto, arugula and parm pizza (that brilliantly mimiced the pasta and was served immediately after) - Gnocchi with braised beef - Ahi Tuna and vegatables - Steak and vegetables - Tiramasu - Creme Brule - Bon-Bons Every single dish (with the exception of the tuna, which was slightly over-cooked for our tastes) was rocking, and better yet, the entire kitchen staff did a great job of interacting with us and keeping us entertained for the ALMOST 4 HOURS we ate there. While the meal was very expensive (we're talking 2-3 Michelin Star prices) and we were barely able to walk out from the amount of food and wine we consumed... we wouldn't hesitate to do it again as we had an absolutely fantastic night. Kudos to the entire Four Seasons team for doing a great job!

I think I would agree with Jen on the five stars if I were just visiting the bar. The view is really fantastic and the servers seem cool. But we were there for dinner. I'm waffling between 3 and 4 stars. The food itself was 3 stars, but the atmosphere is bumping it up to four. They had a little band playing, you watch and hear the waves rolling up on the shore... it would have been the perfect romantic dinner... if it weren't for the three loud, drunk, sales convention couples who were dining right next to us. One of the wives had a voice that could cut through glass, and had lost her volume control hours before. "We're going to... what's that called when you go from bar to bar... BarFly! We're going to BarFly!", she excitedly announced to everyone within a quarter mile radius. But I digress. The first thing I notice on the menu is that all entrees come with the salad bar, or you can get the salad bar alone for $25. $25! I gotta see what's on this salad bar! So, I go and check it out. It's a beautiful set up of carved wooden bowls, but I'll tell you what, it was unimpressive as a salad bar. Some lettuce, chopped veggies, dressings, one soup and a couple of special salad offerings (chicken and salmon). It was small and it was simple. I couldn't get over the $25 price tag. So we ordered entrees (ribs, and shrimp and spicy sausage) and they were just okay. Brought home a dessert for our friend, and it was just okay. We expected so much better from such a nice place. After dinner and coffee, ignore the "Shark Sighting, Keep Out" sign and put your toes in the water, holding hands with your beloved. Go for the romance, not for the food.

Beach casual, amazing view, and elegant but yummylicious food. We had lunch here several times at the resort and I liked the food at Beach Tree even more than at the fancier Pahuia restaurant. Of couse everything we tried was yummy but the most delicious, still dreaming about it dish was their tuna sashimi pizza. I would go back just for this. Oh and for their white wine sangria too - it was so awesome and strong that I requested to have this served for my wedding dinner reception too. I've never had a sangria that was that strong yet still fruity and delicious. Sure the food at FS is never cheap but they don't skimp on the ingredients or alcohol content :).

The food and atmosphere were the best of any place we ate at during our week on the Big Island. Their strawberry colada and other drinks were the best ones I had on the entire island. Even though it wasn't cheap, this was definitely the best food value we got on the entire island.

My wife and I were looking for a good restaurant, something special on our last night on the big island. We've glad we found Beach Tree. I didn't spend a lot of time on-line trying to find the perfect place - but I know that down the road was a Four Seasons Hotel and figured I would check out their restaurants and likely find something good. We were in the mood for a good steak and found that the Beach Tree had a Rib Eye on the menu - so we booked it. I figured if it is at the Four Seasons it would probably be great. And it was. Even the bread they served at the start of the dinner was fantastic. It was very hot.... and I always like my bread hot. They served it with a tomato pesto paste and the bread was baked in the shape of a kind of local flower. It was awsome.... I always judge restaurants by the quality of the bread they serve. This was among the best I have had. I ordered the Veal Parmesan. It was great. I love this dish and have ordered it at my favorite italian restaurant in the bay area for the last 20 years. The veal dish here was better. My wife ordered the Rib Eye Steak. It was grilled to perfection - we shared it and both thought it was a great steak. The service was great as always at a Four Seasons... The waitress was very friendly and pleasant to deal with. The restaurant is right next to the beach and they have a spotlight shinning on the waves - so you can actually see the waves breaking on the shore while eating dinner. Very nice touch. You can't go wrong here.

Ahi Carpaccio with citrus and avocado for starter and gnocchi and ox tail ragout for entree. Fabulous! Pricey but hey it's the Four Seasons! Service was great and Oceanside location cannot be beat.

We were hungry after the flight from Kauai so instead of going right to Kona from the airport we headed north to check out the Four Seasons. Excellent service, split the mango gazpacho without having to ask. I had the "late for the party" cocktail, patron muddled with fresh raspberry and jalapeño, spicy-sweet-savory, yum! Ceviche was well seasoned and fresh, we also split the open face lobster BLT, awesome beach side ambiance. Makes for a great first impression to the big island.

Whoo Hoo! Finally a restaurant to take the place of Brown's at the FAIRMONT Orchid. Chef Nick's creations are outstanding! Be sure to try flatbread with ricotta cheese& truffle oil, veal chop, and my favorite: Batik room Bon Bon's & seafood paella. A hui ho! P.s. Melville viogner and Qupe Viogner, yumm-o!!!!!

We were all over the Big Island and this little pub on the beach was one-of-a-kind! I found one review for the Four Seasons Resort that mentioned this place as the perfect last night dinner near the airport. It is Great for a special night out for a couple or a family; the kids can play on the beach next to your table! Bring a camera for sunset beach pictures with palm trees! Drinks are high priced but all top notch! The Food quality and prices were bargain compared to quality elsewhere! Dress is casual dress; tell the Resort guards you are visitors who want to eat at the beach pub.

Well this should be listed as a new review as the place has just been completely renovated. The new bar is a huge piece of polished Mango tree wood. Classic thatched roof with plenty of covered and uncovered seating just on the beach, nearly at the waters edge. The seating is directed to the west for the view of spectacular daily sunsets. Music is available almost nightly. I have eaten at the bar and restaurant a couple of times and the burgers, crab cakes, calamari, and lamb skewers are all good to excellent. Have had the fresh catch of the day a couple of times in the restaurant side and it is excellent. Usual selections include Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Swordfish. Service was excellent and friendly, what you would expect at a Four Seasons. Prices were high, particularly for drinks but the place is unreal. I think it is one of the top (if not the top) beach bars on the Big Island! Corkage is available but a staggering $35. However, the wine list is structured by pricing and is very fair. Open for lunch and dinner, no breakfast available. Check it out.....

Best food on the big island and some of the best pasta we have ever had. Wife and I stayed at the Four Seasons on our honeymoon and ate at Beach Tree twice. If you go to the big island and don't visit this place you are making a huge mistake...it's that good.

Elegantly casual, all-oceanside dining. Cute kids playing with dads on beach after dinner! Chatty lounging chairs sat right on beach with regular tables stepped-up onto a deck. Atmosphere relaxed and breezy; food choices creative and tasty but not pretentious. Staff friendly and gracious, even as we arrived post-sightseeing in casual clothes. Appetizer was Wow Tomato/Basil Bruschetta--rich with flavor as promised. Entree was ribeye for husband (very good) and I deferred to server's choice of Gnocchi Ox Tail Ragout. Gnocci ridiculously good with air-light dumplings. Declined dessert until server teased with sundae with liqueur sauce. "Sundae" not even close to describing fabulously rich ice cream with Pyrat rum sauce and chocolate slivers. We inhaled it. Beautiful venue, interesting menu, great service. Beach Tree (open to ocean) at Four Seasons is a TOP-TWO restaurant memory from our January 2013 trip to Hawaii Island.

For the wine-lovers, Beach Tree is unique in that it offers every wine on their menu by the glass or the bottle - which is so much fun! The menu is Italian and filled with yummy pizzas, pastas and salads. They also have a selection of fish and meat, but I've never had the willpower to turn down the carbs. YUM!

This place is amazing. It is located at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kona. Wow, the atmosphere is so romantic and beautiful, you are sitting right there on the beach. The restaurant itself is well-designed and extremely romantic. It's not stuffy or overly fancy at all, just a lovely beachside restaurant. The service is impeccable. The food is very, very good. They start you off with house made bread and spread, which were unique and delicious. I started with the shrimp salad - excellent, and my husband had the greens with pork belly - also delicious. I had a pizza for my entree and my husband had the rib eye. My pizza was very good, not the best I've ever had, but quite tasty. My husband's steak was cooked to perfection, he really enjoyed it. Out waiter was so attentive and really knew the menu well. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend this place to anyone. Go there for sunset dinner, it's a beautiful spot.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
